Picatinny Toastmasters holds Annual Banquet

Thursday evening July 30th Picatinny Toastmasters Club 3547 held its Annual Banquet at Portofino's Restaurant in Jefferson Township. 
Area 23 Governor Steve Lord installed the new officers. They are as pictured left to right: Treasurer Lt. Col. Johnny Figueroa CC, VP Education Lucy Kahn ATMB, VP Membership Magda Szymanski, Steve Lord, Secretary Terri Spinella, President Hon. Debi Merz ACB, VP Public Relations & Sgt at Arms Charlie Castiglioni CC, CL. Many long standing members attended the banquet including founding member Joe Potenzano who gave a speech he presented over 40 years ago at an area contest. It was entitled "I See A Flag". Quite a coincidence but the similarities that provoked his speech than are also present today. Table Topic Master Figueroa's theme "Dear Abby" challenged members and quests to find the best solution for the intimate and sometimes embarrassing problem of the writers seeking help! Food was good, conversation was abounding and the excitement anticipated for the new year was evident. |
