Information: Paul joined Toastmasters (TM) in October 1992 with MAD Toasters in New York City. Shortly after that, his company New York Life (NYL) transferred him to Dallas, TX. There he transferred to Trinity TM. After three years, Paul was transferred back to New York and joined Brunswick TM. By the way, while in the Naval Air Reserve, he was known as MAD Man. Ask him to give you that speech when he visits your club.

Paul is retired from NYL after 32 years. He started as an agent but quickly found his calling as a trainer. Paul spent 30 of his 32 years as a trainer, manager and director. In his training and management capacity Paul has made many individuals successful agents. As a director Paul has introduced new products and worked on video teleconferencing systems - something he is starting to use in his communication with members of District 83.

Paul's Toastmasters activities have taken him to four clubs including Mad Toasters, Trinity Toastmasters, Brunswick Toastmasters and ACES Toastmasters. Paul has served in almost all positions in the club and District level. In 2000 his Area was Distinguished. After the new Competent Leadership (CL) program was introduced; Paul produced a CL PowerPoint presentation. It has been shown to over 45 clubs and at District meetings in the New York, New Jersey area. Paul, along with a fellow member of Brunswick Toastmasters, developed a CL record chart that assists members in keeping track of their CL progress.

Although Paul’s position as a trainer required him to speak to classes of 10 to 15 individuals as he trained them, The Road to Success he used to be petrified to talk to a crowd of 200 or 300 members as he does at our conferences. Although Paul was a director having responsibility over 3 to 5 individuals, he never had the ability or responsibility to be a leader to over 30 to 40 individuals, as he did and now continues to do as a District leader. Paul is convinced that Toastmasters is The Road To Success. He knows it has helped him, and with us being the new District 83, “Toastmasters, The Road To Success”, (theme for 2008-2009), will also be the road to success for you. You joined Toastmasters to improve your communication and leadership skills. Paul knows that if you travel the Toastmasters road, you too will be successful!
